Plant Pathology Library News--Summer 2008

Greetings! The Plant Pathology Library won an $1000 grant from the Friends of the UW Libraries in spring 2008. With some of this money we have purchased new titles to keep our collection fresh and up-to-date with the needs of our customers. Please find them on the New Book Table or visit the list of new titles

I'd like to mention that if anybody has suggestions for new books, please let me know. I'm always open to suggestions. Contact me at

scloyd@library.wisc.edu
or call 2-8698

PATRON ASSISTANCE IN SPANISH: The Library has a webpage for persons needing help in Spanish. It's located at this site

NOTA BIEN: Ya tenemos ayuda dedicada a nuestros clientes en español. Se la encuentra en esta pagina

Feel free to make use of our resources whenever you need them. A few things I'd like to mention:

Please do not reshelve your items after using them. My only gauge as to level of material use is by counting books used at day's end. Leave your browsed items either on the wooden cart by the front door or on tables/desks.

The majority of our items are available for 28 day checkout…please remember to properly check the item out first! This helps me keep track of who has what--this sounds obvious, but it's worth repeating.

When checking out materials, please print your name and the day's date on checkout cards. Handwritten script can be hard to decipher.

Leaving books open to a particular page is hard on the book's binding and may result in costly damage. If you wish to mark a page, PLEASE USE A BOOKMARK on the New Book Table or a piece of scrap paper.

Thanks for your cooperation. Steve Cloyd, Librarian, Plant Pathology

OUR HOURS: For those who haven't already noticed, due to budgetary cutbacks the Plant Pathology Library is closed every afternoon. This circumstance will continue for the foreseeable future. Hours are daily Monday-Friday 9am to 12:45pm. I regret any inconvenience to my clients.

If I'm not on duty, you may call 608-262-8698 and leave questions or comments with the answering machine. Your call is important to me! I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for visiting. Go to Plant Pathology Library Homepage
